Privilege Elevation in z/OS Systems – APF and More
z/OS is generally considered among the most secure of computing platforms, and most users and programs run in an ordinary, unprivileged status. There are many instances, however, where heightened access is needed, such as system functions or vendor programs that require APF authorization, or which run in supervisor state. Execution in a system key, use of restricted storage, or other forms of privileged functions are also often required.
During this on-demand webinar, we’ll discuss the heightened privilege facilities in z/OS, along with the macros, system calls, and instructions that implement them. We’ll discuss z/OS security scanning as well, and best practices for managing and using APF and other authorization.
