Get in Line – Serialization in z/OS Systems – Enqueing and Dequeuing

Any computer system that needs to use resources efficiently must have a means of serializing access to prevent collisions and control updates to shared data. In z/OS, the primary means of serializing program access to resources is via the ENQueue and DEQueue services.

During this webinar, we’ll discuss how these services work, how they are used by z/OS programs and applications, and some of the commands, options, and control mechanisms that you can used to display or alter ENQ/DEQ processing and deal with ‘hangs’ and other problem situations.
