The following is a high-level description of the Data API Services (each a “Service”)—part of the Precisely Data Integrity Suite. The Data APIs provide tools for performing declarative queries, geographic and location-based analyses, and data enrichment. These API methods enable integration of data queries, location search, proximity analysis, and data summarization features into applications, supporting mapping solutions, location-based services, and insights extraction from geographic and enrichment data.

Modifications to this Service Description:

  • Orders for Licensed Products and/or Services are governed by the version of this Service Description applicable on the Start Date of the license in an Order.
  • The terms of this Service Description may not be modified with respect to the Order to which they apply except by mutual agreement.
  • New versions of this Service Description will only apply to subsequent Orders.

Data API Services

The Data APIs in scope of this Service are the following:

  • Data Graph API: Allows Customers to perform declarative queries against certain Precisely Enrich Data resources—each of which is considered a Data Product.
  • Features API: Provides Customers with more detailed information about properties shown in dynamic tiles on a map.
  • Dynamic Maps API: Serves dynamic tiles for visual display and analysis
  • Tiles API: Serves pre-rendered tiles for visual display and analysis
  • Search Nearby API: Identifies the nearest locations or objects to a specified geometry based on criteria or distance
  • Search At Location API: Enables to search for locations or points of interest within a defined geographic area or around a specified location
  • Spatial Summary API: Provides detailed spatial data summaries within a specified region, including metrics like population density, area, and other location-specific attributes
  • Overlap API: Identifies spatial intersections between a specified geometry and existing geometries in a specified table
  • Routing API: Provides route calculations, reachable area boundaries, and travel time/distance matrix based on factors like vehicle type, traffic, and user preferences

Data API Analysis and Enrichment

Entitlement to the Data APIs allows a Customer to query any of the following datasets available (each a “Dataset”). A Dataset is a subset of a Data Product. Contact your Precisely sales representative for details.

Additional Definitions

In the context of the Data APIs, the following terms have the meanings below regardless of how defined in other governing agreements:

“Allotment” means the number of Credits purchased by Customer.

“Billing Period” means the period set forth in an Order for which an Allotment has been purchased. This will typically be a year period but could be otherwise as mutually agreed.

“Credit” means pre-purchased credits specified in an Order for use by Customer with the Data APIs as described in this Service Description.

“Customer Data” in the context of the Data APIs means any data, such as an address record, geographic data, telephone number, individual or business record or user query, or other material submitted by Customer to the Service or provided by Customer to Precisely for the performance of the Service.

“Map Session” in the context of the Tile Maps API and the Dynamic Maps API means each time a user loads a map tile or map display. User interactions with a loaded map/display (ex. panning around or zooming in or out) do not create additional Credits usage. However, clicking on information displayed on a Dynamic Maps API will deliver a Record via the Features API and regular Credit usage for that API shall then apply.

“Record” means each individual grouping of associated data elements. For clarity, in a database, a record is the row not the column(s) of individual fields. Examples of a Record include a Building returned by a query. Other examples include an address or a place or a parcel, depending on which API is queried. Multiple Records can be returned in a single query.

Transacting with Credits

  1. Once an Allotment of Credits is purchased pursuant to an Order, those Credits can be used to transact in the Data APIs. Credits may not be used with any other Data Integrity Suite service, even those that are credit usage based.
  2. The number of Credits used will be based on (a) the number of Records returned from a Customer query for each Dataset (output-based pricing) using the allocation model in the Datasets and Credit Usage Table above, or (b) a Map Session as noted in the table above. Credits will be used per Record received regardless of the number of fields returned in the query.
  3. Clicking on something in a Dynamic Maps API will trigger a query about that item on the map and return a Record requiring usage of Credits.
  4. Customer’s usage of the Data APIs also benefits from the Flex Usage program described in the Foundation Service Description and applicable to all Services in the Data Integrity Suite. As a result, any usage of the Data APIs more than the purchased Allotment will incur charges for the additional Credits used.

Data Caching and Order Termination

Customer caching of Records and attributes returned by the Data APIs is allowed during the license term in the applicable Order granting entitlement to the service. However, upon expiration/termination of the license term, Customer shall delete and/or remove all copies of the Records, Datasets and other Data Products from Customer’s Systems and if requested, certify in writing that it has done so. In addition, if Customer renews an order with a substantially less Allotment than in the prior license term, Precisely reserves the right to have Customer delete and/or remove all copies of the Records, Datasets and other Data Products from Customer’s Systems on a pro rata basis comparing the prior Allotment to the current Allotment.

Use in Connection with AI Systems

An “AI System” or “AI” means a machine-based system that is designed to operate with varying levels of autonomy and that may exhibit adaptiveness after deployment, and that, for explicit or implicit objectives, infers, from the input it receives, how to generate outputs such as predictions, content, recommendations, or decisions that can influence physical or virtual environments.

To the extent Customer licenses or otherwise obtains Records or other Data Products from the Data APIs, such Records or Data Products may only be used with AI Systems through prompt engineering or retrieval augmented generation for Customer’s internal business purposes within an internal-only, enterprise-restricted AI environment (herein a “Permitted AI Tool”).

Notwithstanding the foregoing, use of any Permitted AI Tool shall not be employed to commit or permit any act or omission that would impair Precisely’s copyrights or other proprietary rights in the Records, Datasets and other Data Products, and Customer shall not use the Records, Datasets or other Data Products for the purpose of grounding or training any AI System or other artificial intelligence tools, including but not limited to large language models, machine learning algorithms, or similar technologies for any purpose, including to develop, enhance, or otherwise create any substitute or competing products, or otherwise ingest Records, Datasets or other Data Products into training datasets, incorporate into model weights, or otherwise store or process in a manner that enables subsequent use by the AI system beyond the immediate internal purpose.

In addition, Customer shall comply with any confidential information restrictions in agreements between Precisely and a Customer. Any use of the Service outside these limitations is strictly prohibited and shall constitute a material breach of Customer’s agreements with Precisely, and Precisely reserves all rights and remedies available under law or equity.

Connection to Geo Addressing Service

The Data APIs may be used by Customers to address/access their Allotment of Geo Addressing Transactions for the Address Geocode service/API. A separate Allotment of Transactions is required, and the Credits cannot be used when accessing the Address Geocode API via the Data APIs. Customers that do not currently have an entitlement to Geo Addressing that are seeking to utilize this functionality should contact their Precisely sales representative.

Additional Applicable Terms

Data APIs are available for addresses worldwide (subject to certain restrictions). Contact your Precisely sales representative for details.

Certain of the products above are configured with a Locate Reporting component (which may or may not be separately called out in an Order).
