Press releases

Syncsort, the global leader in Big Iron to Big Data solutions, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Cilasoft, a global provider of IT solutions, specializing in compliance and security audit software for the IBM i platform (AS/400, iSeries, System i). The acquisition is part of Syncsort’s strategy to build on its leadership in data availability by offering a more comprehensive portfolio of security solutions for the IBM i platform.

Businesses are continually faced with numerous security threats such as hackers, ransomware and internal theft. With major security breaches continually making headlines, many organizations are facing damaged reputations and financial losses. Because of these looming risks, organizations consider cybersecurity a critical part of their business resilience strategy.

“Enterprises need to continually ensure that their most critical business functions and supporting infrastructure are designed to minimize the impact of any potential disruptions to their business. That’s why many customers relying on our MIMIX products for IBM i high availability and disaster recovery are also making strategic investments in tools required to address mounting security threats,” said Josh Rogers, CEO, Syncsort. “The addition of Cilasoft, combined with the complementary security capabilities recently acquired with Enforcive Systems, significantly bolsters our data availability portfolio with innovative software to meet modern security challenges. We are thrilled to welcome the Cilasoft team and their IBM i security expertise to Syncsort.”

Cilasoft’s Audit and Security software provides an efficient solution for auditing, traceability, privacy data, data protection and access control to effectively help companies save time and money on regulatory compliance and detect and prevent fraud. Its security suite includes five integrated software products designed to audit database and system changes, control system access, manage job authorities and perform other critical security and compliance-related tasks.

The Cilasoft transaction is Syncsort’s second acquisition since combining with Vision Solutions, adding additional expertise and proven leadership in IBM i and AIX Power Systems platforms. It also advances Syncsort’s ongoing work around addressing customer needs for accessing critical IBM i security and compliance data for advanced analytics on next-generation platforms like Splunk.
